A guy showed me a different way to operate a Leslie. His purpose was preventing his Krueger Bass from being pushed thru a fast spinning speaker.

FIRST...UNPLUG BOTH THE BROWN AND THE WHITE PLUGS WHICH GO TO THE LOWER ROTOR MOTOR. THEN...PLUG THE WHITE PLUG IN, WHERE THE BROWN PLUG WAS ORIGINALLY. LAST...LEAVE THE BROWN PLUG DISCONNECTED.

Try it, you might like it; I do! The result is...when upper is fast, the lower is in "chorale". This is a nice effect, especially behind a group and when playing a string bass such as Trek thru the Leslie.
