Although it is possible to connect a Leslie to a spinet, it's also possible to transplant a rotary speaker from another brand of organ to achieve a Leslie-like effect. This can be worthwhile if you don't have the space or budget for a genuine Leslie speaker. StefanVorkoetter describes how to do this at
